My valuation of my services are often considered very reasonable based on the knowledge, experience, time, effort, expense, availability, and quality service I provide.
My base rate is $75. This scale is used when drawing up a bid for my services. I charge this much based on my 30 years of experience, cost of living, gas and vehicle expenses, equipment and tool expenses, and availability and ease of use. I charge the same to all clients based on the service. I do include my time and costs of traveling to and from Kona and shopping time needed to find the various materials needed which are not readily available in Waimea. Nights, Weekends, Holidays & Emergency On-Call service may be charged at a higher rate and is determined on a situational basis.
Some services take longer than expected and some services take less time. When I do jobs that require an individual service in a home, my estimates are understandably a little higher. It is much more cost effective for clients and me to do several services in one visit than to have me come back several times. When I do jobs that include more than one service, I estimate the total time I will need to complete all of them and propose my bid. I charge less for these jobs than I would if I did each one individually.
